TripAdvisor: “Their food is an explosion on our tastebuds”

We are not the greatest fans of websites like TripAdvisor. There are several reasons for it. The most important ones are that there are always people out there who, as the Dutch say, make an elephant out of a mosquito. Another one is that some in the tourism industry have been manipulating  by letting staff, acquaintances, etc. write raving reviews. TripAdvisor offers businesses nowadays the opportunity to reply to certain negative reviews. We had one bad review but we know where it came from and didn’t bother to respond. There is always a nasty ‘competitor’ somewhere ….

Anyway, since that one review we only had good reviews and we are in the regional top 10 (whatever that means). And our customers are from all over; from Canada to Australia and a few weeks ago we even had some Dutch on their bikes… We don’t ask people to write a review on TripAdvisor and we don’t advertise TripAdvisor with stickers all over the place.

But in all honesty we are proud of ourselves reading those reviews of the past few months …

Here are a few:

“Highly recommend. Such a beautiful and welcoming venue and decor with really lovely hosts! Highly recommend the carrot cake and their coffee in the lounge area for the win!”

“Jake and Ester are very welcoming hosts. That they remember peoples names, is beyond me. Even my dog’s name. How wonderful is that. Thank you for always welcoming us with open arms.”

“We have enjoyed lunch here on numerous occasion and my favourite is the lamb wrap. A great venue and menu and good coffee. Great hosts too. Will definitely be back!!”

“YUM Eat Cafe’ Their food is an explosion on your tastebuds, well prepared and attention to detail on every serving. Friendly staff. Decor fresh and appeasing to the eye. Do not leave Stanford without eating here, their food is YUM!”

“Loved the decor amd warm friendly service. Fantastic coffee and good food. Beautiful building and good location.”

“Had an excellent lunch at Yum Eat. The Lamb Wrap was superb – the quiche was very nice but a little smaller. The fruit smoothies were somewhat odd-ball combinations but good! Will definitely go back in the future…”

“My family stopped by there one morning for coffee. It was by far one of the better lattes we’ve had here in South Africa where freeze dried is king. The proprietor greeted us personally and was very knowledgable about the whole coastal area. The scones were warm from the oven and the jam was homemade. Everything was perfect!”

“Loved this little place now that its re opened and has new owners. They are really welcoming and my husband and I enjoyed the food thoroughly. We had the trout and lamb shank and it was all delicious, could not fault them on anything.”

Etc., etc…..

Thank you customers!!!

And now back to work. We can always do better!!!
